I am doing a cleanse of my body with Starcat by focusing on raw foods, especially smoothies and juices. We decided to take this Beltane and focus our energies on changing our body, mind and spirit through nurturing ourselves in many ways.
Today we made some really awesome food that I really enjoyed making, and of course eating.
First, as usual, I made a yummy smoothie with carrot, banana, pear, pineapple and strawberry. Looked like a sunset. :) Tasted bright too. :)
Next, we marinated some mushrooms, scallions and garlic in Bragg's and water (simple marinade for sure) plus soaked some pecans for a yummy pate.
We also soaked some pine nuts and grabbed some frozen corn (cut from the cob last fall) and zhuzhed it up in the food processor with some onion, cumin, cayenne and sea salt. Then I put it on a mesh and tossed in the dehydrator for some raw corn chips. We'll see how they come out. The batter tasted rather like corn chips already though. :)
Next, since the dehydrator was already going, we put some potatoes in the spiralizer and made them real thin. Then added Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar and sea salt for a coating. We made 4 trays of raw salt and vinegar potato chips. They should be done in the next half hour or so...yum!
In the meantime, I took some frozen bananas and put them through the Champion Juicer and made raw banana ice cream. We added some fruit salad from last night and some cacao nibs and we had a yummy dessert.
I had this mental hitch as far as making raw food recipes and how complicated they could be. Then I realized that all I am doing is putting fruits and veggies together in cool ways. I simply was not cooking them. An aha moment later and I was coming up with real cool combos. I look forward to having more and interesting tools to work with.
Anyway, I plan stay with raw foods on this cleanse for 10 days. I feel that this will lead me even deeper on my spiritual path. I am very much looking forward to creating some awesome food that I want to share with my peeps.
Hope you are doing great on this May Day!
Blessings and Love!
