No Till, Mulch Gardening

Hi folks,

I have been working on a no-till, ecomimicry, natural mulch garden!

A few years ago, I spent a good 20 hours or so tearing up sod and removing clumps of grass from a 20x50 area of the front yard. The first year was quite bountiful but rather labor intensive. Every year after that, I had less incentive to spend hours upon hours in the garden. Yet I plugged away at a couple beds at a time.

This year, with some help from some permaculture friends and more research, I found a way to do less intensive gardening that will hopefully yield a bountiful amount of herbs, veggies, and fruit.

You can find a cool video about it here: Ruth Stout's Garden

I am looking for some hay or straw to finish mulching the areas I have so far. Aunt Peg donated her leaf piles to use in 7 of the beds (so far).

If anyone is interested in permaculture or has some thoughts, ideas, or questions they want to share, please leave a comment or send me a message.

Many Blessings!

P.S. We got so many chives in 2011 that we still have some in the freezer still. The chives are coming up nicely! <3 br="">
