On This Yuletide

Put on your coat
Put on your boots
It is time again
To go outside
And celebrate around the fire

The winter is cold
And in full swing
We can see our breath
We can see the circle
With the logs set just so

We come together
On this longest night
To celebrate the return
Of the Sun
From his deep slumber

We hold hands
And sing a carol
We dance and smile
As the bonfire burns
And lifts the night

With hails to each
The directions we call
Earth, Air, Fire, Water
And to our ancestors
We give our lovely praise

With energy raised
And our hearts filled
We return inside
Cider and nog mugs
Brimming for our warmth

A feast on the table
Great foods to imbibe
And pies of all kinds
To keep our energy up
For our long vigil

On this Yuletide
We come together
With friends and family
From dusk until dawn
We gives thanks anew
