On Occupy Wall Street and Spirit

What are the commonalities between the 99% and the 1%? What is the spiritual component of the OWS movement?

I have noticed a great deal of focus on the lack of prosperity and lack of power that many in this movement have. I feel there is a great opportunity to include spiritual connection. We are all divine beings experiencing and creating our lives how we know best. By recognizing the divine nature in each of us, we can better connect and speak truth to power.

By focusing on the lack of influence, power, and wealth, I feel that those in the Occupy movement who feel this way are doing a disservice to the intentions behind the movement. The more you focus on the lack of what you want, the more you will receive the lack of it. If instead the focus was on ways to reconcile the needs and desires of the whole, the transformational nature of this movement can expand and include all folks from all walks of life.

To change the world, we must each change ourselves first. By embodying our true spiritual intentions, each of us changes the world for the better. Embracing our differences and acknowledging that we all want to experience life to its fullest is a noble goal. Peaceful and self-empowered people change the world, allowing each of us to connect with people of different faiths, ethnicities, and financial abilities.

I live the life that I choose being mindful of my connection with All-That-Is. Encouraging others to recognize their connection with the universe and each other can only lead to more open discussions, creativity, connection and empowerment for all. Transformation is imminent and I am thankful for the open and frank discussions that shine the light on new ways of community and discourse.
