Peace

During this time of year, many people focus on peace and harmony and trying to find solutions to war and hunger. People also focus on family, friends, community, gift-giving and charity. And still others may focus on lack, greed, decadence, and humbug.

Who is right? What should any one person be focusing on? What about people who are doing anything that you do not like or that you hate or fear? How can you find peace when others are fighting for survival?

Within each of us is the answer. We each know or at least are aware of what we enjoy and what we do not enjoy. We each know that some things are wonderful to us, and other things are terrible. This knowing is the guidance of our eternal nature, our soul if you will. We are not separate from our eternal nature, but a manifestation of it. We are an emergence into this time-space continuum of our eternal being. I believe, with some introspection and meditation, that this guidance can aid each of us to the peace we seek.

To find the peace within you, stop doing the things that hurt yourself or others. Every thought is a choice. We each can choose to be who and what we want, and by listening to our inner guidance, by way of positive or negative emotions, then we can choose peace instead of war.

The major reason why we have war and hunger and fear is that most of us do not like what we see in the world or what we are experiencing and want other people to change what they are doing so that we can feel better. In other words, instead of changing ourselves to change the world, we expect and demand that others change themselves so that they will conform to the world we wish to experience. We demand that they stop hurting other people or that they stop stealing or that they stop doing those things that don't feel good to us.

The only way to change the world is from within. Hear the peace and love that is always within you and heed its advice. When you listen to your inner being, your experience of the world will get better. If you only listen to your head, you will find that you do not feel very good. Your mind is a beautiful tool for knowledge and coming up with great ideas to experience or to discover better ways of living. But without the guidance of your soul, the mind will find these "better" solutions, regardless of whether they are in line with what you truly want.

I will assume that many people may object to this line of thinking based on the notion of lack or the idea of our limited nature. Regardless of where you are on your path, we each know what feels good and what does not. The choices we make are all around us. Every person, every object, and every situation we find ourselves in is based on the majority of our thoughts.

To find the peace that is within you and to experience it throughout your experience, take time to listen within and take care of yourself. Each of us can find the peace within. Once that is found, the solutions and aid that you wish to give for others to experience will become self-evident.
